How to Develop Exceptional Focus & Will Power?

Image
Oftentimes I hear people complaining that they’re not able to focus well because of distractions, cell phones and the internet being one of the greatest sources! My friends often ask me ‘How do you resist checking your phone even when it beeps in between a task that you’re doing’. Well, my answer to that is I just don’t feel like checking it. I know it would give me some instant gratification and a dose of dopamine releases but I don’t want any of it at the cost of my task at hand. The guilt and regret that you feel by leaving it incomplete or unsolved feels way worst. No one likes losing. If you fail to achieve your targets on a particular day, you won’t want to start any task the next day for the fear of failure and not living up to your expectations. This is exactly what procrastination is. We become a victim of it without even realizing. When we work on a particular task with compassion and focus, it initially feels tiring and monotonous but if we’re able to complete it o...

What makes a great Leader?

Image
The greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things. He is the one who gets the people to do the greatest things! – Ronald Reagan Leadership doesn’t necessarily have to be about leading a team. It can be about leading your in life. Every great achievement starts with a push from within. And we have all used that leadership skill in us at some point in life to move forward, take initiatives and achieve success. I won’t talk much about the practical skills that a leader should possess. You can always google that. Through this blog post, I’d rather love to share some tips that I’ve learnt through real life experiences. Today, I’m going to give you 7 tips about how you can actually lead a team to success. Let’s begin: The first step towards success is discipline .  A leader should ensure that the team follows discipline. You can do this by setting an example yourself. For example, suppose you want to have a team meeting let’s say at 9am in the morni...

How to Get over the Fear of Being Judged?

Image
Have you always felt other directed? Do you often feel anxious about how others perceive you or what will others think of you if you behave a certain way? Oftentimes the ones who judge others are the ones who are scared of being judged themselves. So the first step is to try and stop judging others too much.  The moment you stop caring about how fat or thin someone is or how pretty or ugly they are or how loud or timid they are, you’ll see that your fear of being judged will slowly fade away too.  I am not a psychologist which is why I cannot give you professional advice. But the point I’m trying to make here is that if you try to be less critical about others, you will be less critical about yourself too. I don’t want to give you any readymade solution to this, rather I would like you to get to the root of it and figure out what is it that you’re really scared of.  Okay, someone might not like you the way you are, someone might make fun of you but so what? Why...

Image
No matter how fluent we are, most of us are terrified by the idea of speaking impromptu on stage or in front of an audience. Have you ever wondered where does this fear come from? I found out that for most of us, it comes from the fear of being judged. I don’t want to give you some unrealistic ideas to get over this fear, rather I want to make you question your own beliefs and ponder upon them and figure out if they’re even real or if they're just on your mind. Until we get to the root cause, it will continue to be a fear for life. If you'd like, you may read my article about how to get over the fear of being judged before we proceed towards understanding how to ace an impromptu speech. Giving an Impromptu speech can be really intimidating, I totally understand. Before joining toastmasters, it was difficult for me as well to believe that people can actually just walk up to a stage and speak on any topic that’s given to them! How to deal with a topic you know nothing ...
