How to Get over the Fear of Being Judged?
Have you always felt
other directed? Do you often feel anxious about how others perceive you or what
will others think of you if you behave a certain way?
Oftentimes the ones who judge others are the ones who are scared of being judged themselves. So the first step is to try and stop judging others too much.
The moment you stop caring about how fat or thin someone is or how pretty or ugly they are or how loud or timid they are, you’ll see that your fear of being judged will slowly fade away too.
I am not a psychologist which is why I cannot give you
professional advice. But the point I’m trying to make here is that if you try
to be less critical about others, you will be less critical about yourself too.
I don’t want to give you any readymade solution to this, rather I would like you to get to the root of it and figure out what is it that you’re really scared of.
Okay, someone
might not like you the way you are, someone might make fun of you but so what?
Why does it affect you? Is it just the ego (which is normal) or is there any
deep rooted issue that triggers all of it?
Let’s find out.
1. What is your deepest fear and why?
What is it that you’re scared of? Is there a practical way to work upon your fears? If yes, then that’s your solution.
If you’re inconfident about your appearance, you can surely start to adopt a better lifestyle, incorporate a workout routine to look and feel better, eat fresh and healthy food to stabilize your mood and meet new people!
If you feel
you lack knowledge, start reading! The internet is a vast ocean of knowledge,
all you need to do is research and read.
Now,
answering why your fear is your deepest one is a tough one to figure out but if
you can do it, you’ll understand yourself much better and you’ll realise that
it’s not really about you but it’s about a deep rooted fear or anxiety that was
instilled in you long time ago and which still remains unsolved.
You might be a really good looking person but because of your fears you feel inconfident and this makes you look shabby and reserved.
Just imagine how things would be if you accepted yourself the way you are, accepted yourself to be beautiful. You would be a changed person!
People see you the way you see yourself and I don’t have to elaborate this more that if you want to be loved, you have to love yourself first.
Anyway, looks don’t matter if you have an
amazing personality. A confident person looks attractive and wonderful no
matter how perfect his/her appearance is!
This always helps. If you’re very scared of something, just think of what’s the worst that could happen! Is it so big an issue?
If not, then just chill. We get over fears by facing them, not shying out from them.
If you’re scared of public speaking, why don’t you try it once? What’s the worst that could happen? People would laugh at you. So, be it!
It’s good that you could at least make people laugh and you’re a winner because you came out of your cage and instead of shying away, you’re one step closer to overcoming your biggest fears!
Isn’t it a win-win situation both ways? This is how you should always think of what’s the worst that could happen. It will make things easier for you.
3. Don’t take life too seriously
Life is meant to be lived! If you spend half of your life worrying about what others think of you, how will you see the beauty of life?
Figure out your fears, work on them, face your fears, if you have to make a fool of yourself sometimes in order to become a better version of yourself, I feel it’s worth it.
Don’t worry so much and take life easy. Laugh and make others laugh, be active and embrace life. We only live once, so make the most of it.😊
Conclusion
The best way to overcome the fear of judgement is to invest your time into better things in life.
Life is beautiful and there’s a lot that you can do than worrying too much. And trust me, the best way to get out of your fears is to do what scares you the most!
Decide once and for all, no matter what happens, you’re going to go out there, face it and get over your inhibitions that have caged you to move forward towards a beautiful future.
And lastly, I would request you to do all the things that you love and discover the wonderful being that you are. There will be no reason to fear a judgement if you know who you really are.😊
